Changing your engine oil is one of the most important maintenance tasks for your car. In this guide, we'll explain how to do it yourself, saving you time and money!
Mineral Oil - Economical, change every 5,000 km
Synthetic Oil - Superior performance, lasts 15,000-30,000 km
Semi-Synthetic Oil - Quality/price compromise, lasts 10,000 km
Viscosity (e.g., 5W-30):
5W = Cold fluidity
30 = Hot viscosity
ā ļø ALWAYS check your car's manual!
1. Warm up the engine for 5 minutes
2. Lift the car with a jack
3. Position drain pan under drain plug
4. Unscrew drain plug (caution: oil is hot!)
5. Let it drain for 10-15 minutes
6. Re-tighten plug

4. Screw on new filter by hand
