Why recycle batteries?

Batteries are made with important recyclable resources and chemicals, such as lead, cadmium, zinc, lithium, and mercury, which are highly polluting. If batteries are disposed of as undifferentiated waste along with other urban household waste, they cannot be recycled, and the substances they contain will contribute to environmental pollution.

You can provide concrete help to the environment by recycling your depleted batteries. The material contained in batteries disposed of at collection points can be recovered and reused to produce new batteries or other items.

Recycling symbol

All batteries are labeled with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol, indicating that the product cannot be disposed of with urban waste.

Batteries containing hazardous substances, such as mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), or lead (Pb), are marked with the corresponding chemical symbol.

How to recycle batteries

• Visit the recycling website to find the battery collection points closest to you
• You can contact local authorities for information on collection points in your area that accept used batteries
• Participate in national recycling campaigns
• If you have problems returning old batteries, contact our Customer Service

Devices with integrated batteries

Electronic devices with integrated batteries, such as phones, laptops, and other gadgets, can be recycled through the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) disposal and recovery program.
